(OpenX), one of the world\u2019s leading providers of digital and mobile advertising technology, today announced the appointment of veteran technology and media industry executive John Gentry to the newly created role of president. Gentry will be responsible for operating the business and further accelerating OpenX\u2019s rapid trajectory, delivering revenue growth through sales, technology, and product innovation globally. Organizationally, Gentry will have oversight of OpenX\u2019s three core operating teams: business, engineering and product. Gentry will report to OpenX chief executive officer, Tim Cadogan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cJohn\u2019s extensive background in technology has given him two very compelling dimensions of experience,\u201d said Tim Cadogan, chief executive officer, OpenX. \u201cFirst, he\u2019s been immersed in leading every aspect of a high-growth technology company. Second, he\u2019s been deeply engaged in marketplace businesses that have sought to disrupt three major advertising sectors: search, television and display. We\u2019ve grown very rapidly over the last five years. To extend that success into the next five years, we need to simultaneously drive scale and operating precision. John\u2019s experience and judgment make him the ideal executive to help us accomplish this.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gentry brings to his new role at OpenX nearly twenty years of experience in leadership roles at technology and media companies that have redefined advertising and commerce. Prior to OpenX, Gentry was president of Spot Runner, developer of the Malibu Media Platform, an online media exchange that simplifies the buying and selling of television media. Before Spot Runner, he was chief revenue officer of Green Dot (NYSE: GDOT), the pioneer and market leader in the prepaid debit card industry. Previously, Gentry was senior vice president and general manager of the Affiliate Business of Overture Services, Inc. (Overture), the originator of the paid search advertising model, now a key driver of the digital economy. Before Overture, Gentry was an executive at Disney\/ABC Cable Networks and Discovery Communications.&nbsp;\u201cOpenX has already achieved a leadership position in an industry that is huge and growing rapidly and I\u2019m excited to become a part of it,\u201d said John Gentry, president, OpenX.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOpenX\u2019s multi-product platform provides the opportunity to achieve even greater scale and, in doing so, create significant leverage for the business.
